There is too much light.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Gone the swaths of cloud wind tore like<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> clotted bandages from the curds in the sky.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We hear blood reverberating in our ears,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> wonder whether others divine our thought\u2019s<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> tempest. Aren\u2019t our minds crossed with roiling squall<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> better to conceal the tack of our bark?<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Something is over, that is enough.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Yet wouldn\u2019t we rather it not? We\u2019re so<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> naked when calm. When spasms abate,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">we\u2019re alone, seeking out pangs like old friends<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> who suddenly are gone. Through a bright cleft<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> in the clouds sunbeams rain down upon us<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">***<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <em>I&#8217;ve tagged this &#8220;noumenal&#8221; poem and formally similar other ones &#8220;muted sonnets&#8221;, meaning they do not sound or ring, which is what &#8220;sonnet&#8221; meant originally. They do conform to the same underlying pattern based on the ratio 4\/3, belonging to an elegant set of seductive beauty.
