\nI think I am going to stick with this latest version of a poem I have lived with for over forty years, example\u00a0nec plus ultra of intranslatibility. \u00a0In my mind it is also a superb case in point\u00a0of how images intermingle and breed, since the above quasi-haiku by Salvatore Quasimodo clearly generated my much less succinct lines in\u00a0Chaparral Sunset<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Day sheds its sheath of light,
\nthe skin of things a wisp,
\na wreath, every blade clinging
\nto the flare once pulsing within.<\/p>\n
