Even PD does not confer this knowledge. &#8220;Most people die with it,&#8221; my first neurologist told me, &#8220;rather than<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> from<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> it&#8221;&#8211;presumably, by way of reassurance. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">PD imparts a sort<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>of lucidity about dying.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It also masks the effects of aging, which is proceeding in the normal way<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>at the same time that one&#8217;s<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0nervous <\/span>system is eroding.
