Gabriel commited suicide in the 70s, at the height of his fame as one of his generation&#8217;s best poets in Catalan. \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>As we lay enlaced before<br \/>\na window which gave to a grove<br \/>\nof olives (two bare seeds<br \/>\nwithin a fruit summer burst open,<br \/>\ninfused with heat), we had no<br \/>\nmemories. We were the memory<br \/>\nwe now have. We were icons<br \/>\nof ourselves to be revered<br \/>\nby true believers of afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><b>After Gabriel Ferrater<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Aleshores, quan j\u00e8iem<br \/>\nabra\u00e7ats davant la finestra<br \/>\noberta al pend\u00eds d\u2019oliveres (dues<br \/>\nllavors nues dins un fruit que l\u2019estiu<br \/>\nha badat violent, i que s\u2019omple<br \/>\nd\u2019aire) no ten\u00edem records. \u00c9rem<br \/>\nel record que tenim ara. \u00c9rem<br \/>\naquesta imatge.
