A fan, an addict

Let me come right out and say it. I am a fan, some would say an addict, of Social Media. The underlying codes and the virtual reality they project as marvels of human ingenuity. It’s how they are used which is the problem, not what they are.

I have found myself with a proliferation of sign-ons. I have two accounts on Instagram, one dedicated to my personal life, the second to my poetry. It follows that there are two corresponding accounts on that spin-off from  Insta, Threads.  This Pessoa-like proliferation of identities began with Twitter (X), with @xerxesxerxes being dedicated to poetry; @geogeoplots, was originally intended to host on political commentary. It  has now         been placed on hiatus.  Bluesky is a recent account, set up to offer a alternative to X.  Even before X, I was on Tumblr, where I remain, though largely inactive. I did recently delete my Tiktok account, but signed up to XinHongShu “Little Red Book,” known euphemistically as Red Note.

Carney is an affable enough Canuck with a formidable dossier and a steel-trap mind, still something of a virtue within the Canadiab cultural and therefore political sphere.
