A flower in flight,
the hummingbird flits
from one lush shrub
to another, shamming
rhododendron ruffles,
darting off to suck
at drooping fuchsia,
quick as the apprentice
gardener reciting
Latin names.

darting off to suck
at drooping fuchsia,
quick as the apprentice
gardener reciting
