Prior to 1986, taught as contractual, sessional and limited term professor at Cuttington College (Liberia), University of Alberta, Vanier College (Montréal), Université de Sherbrooke, and Université de Bordeaux III. Over 50 different courses taught at all levels in Comparative Literature, French Language, Culture and Literature, English, African and Caribbean Literature, Translation, Literary theory and methodogy.  Graduate supervision (lifetime): 13 M.A., 5 Ph.D., over 30 supervisory committees.
