Where there is no censorship, isn’t it reasonable to conclude nothing anyone says threatens the established order?
Herbert Marcuse didn’t exactly put it this way, but this aphorism is easy to deduce from his thoughts. One Dimensional Man came out fifty years ago. It had quite an impact in those years, but was quickly forgotten. It is prescient in ways I never could have foreseen.
